“If you’re not first, you’re last.” The immortal Reese Bobby quote may have been debunked in terms of racing, but it’s patently true in a current auction that yields a NASCAR-driven Ford Mustang to the winner.

Cole Custer’s #41 Wow Wow Classic Waffles Ford Mustang is on the block, headlining an array of race memorabilia. Signed helmets, jerseys, and more from the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS pro motocross team join Custer’s kit in the eBay auction, live now. Stewart-Haas Racing teams up with the Red Bull motoX crew to put on the event, which supports nonprofit Feed America.

All proceeds from the winning bids will benefit the organization, which comprises 200 local food banks and 60,000 pantries and meal programs across the country. According to the auction’s sponsors, each dollar will provide ten meals.

Each item is up for auction separately. The #41 Mustang is far and away the so-called pearl of greatest price. It’s hard not to pay attention to the Wow Wow branding, with its ketchup-and-mustard pinstripes and cartoonish lettering.

A 2022 race day experience from Stewart-Haas Racing and a signed, race-worn kit from Red Bull rider Justin Barcia have also attracted a lot of bids.

The coolest artifacts on the block? Definitely the sheet metal/carbon fiber scraps, included in an offering of NASCAR race-driven car parts and fragments. A Goodyear slick that ran at none other than Talladega completes the lot. If you’re into that kind of thing, the tattered array might not cost you that much — as of this writing, the leading bid was $285.

The Troy Lee/Red Bull/GASGAS factory experience looks like another good bet. Geared toward fun for all ages, the event takes place at stately motorhead epicenter Blackmore Ranch in Murrieta, CA on December 16. In the experience, two guests will visit the ranch to meet and greet the GASGAS riders, watch them shred, and (it appears) hit the track themselves on STACYC bikes — cross-breeds between e-bikes and dirt bikes. All that plus food, music and drinks went for a highest bid of just $51 as of this writing.

Live now, each auction will end just after 7:00 p.m. central time on December 6. As I write this, bids totaled $15,000. Simple math indicates that if that all falls under “proceeds,” Feed America will distribute 150,000 meals and counting.
